Zhu Zhu Pets Will Be A Big Seller This Christmas
I do pretty well out of the Amazon Associate scheme. Right now, in the run up to Christmas, it's especially good.

It would be great if you knew what the best selling toy was going to be every year. Apart from making a lot of money you would be an absolute hero with your kids, nieces, nephews etc.

I got it right about fifteen years ago. I bought my son - who was about six months old at the time - a Buzz Lightyear action figure in September. They were sold out by mid November and people were selling them for about ten times the ticket price. I was tempted - but in the end he got his Buzz. It's up in the attic now and probably worth less than a tin of Pepsi.

Anyway - I'm making a prediction that this years big seller will be Zhu Zhu Pets. They are currently taking up about eight out of the top ten slots in Amazon's "Toys and Games " bestsellers list and it looks like they'll start to get scarce soon.

Make hay while the sun shines.

Amazon Kindle DX Starts Shipping Today
Today is the big day for the new Amazon Kindle DX - the larger version of Amazon's hugely successful e-book reader. Having been announced in May, just a few months after the launch of the Kindle 2 in February, the DX starts shipping today. Amazon has been taking pre-orders since May and all the signs are that this will be yet another huge hit with the great buying public.

Personally, I have sold plenty Kindles as an Amazon associate so I've got my fingers crossed that I can make good sales of the DX also.

Those of you who are already involved in the Amazon associate scheme will be aware that direct linking to the Amazon site from pay-per-click adverts is no longer permitted. Even if it was, the keyword "kindle" is banned for associates - so you are going to need your own website and you are going to need to do a little SEO.

That could be a bit difficult, the competition for the term "kindle" is going to be brutal for some time to come. You might want to think about something a bit more achievable - such as Kindle accessories for example. Even if your site visitors don't wind up buying an actual Kindle reader, some of the accessories on offer are pretty pricey and could land you a nice commission. There are some nice leather covers available for both the Kindle 2 and the DX which are going for over $100! And that's just one example, there are plenty others.

Digital photo frames have come down in price and the numbers being sold have increased quite dramatically. A nice little earner if you want my opinion.

You can move them on Amazon or any major aff network.

New Model PS3 Launched in UK

On October 10, Sony launched their 40GB PlayStation 3 model. This is to replace the previous 60GB model which will be discontinued after current stocks are used up.

The launch was also accompanied by a big reduction in the cost of the 60GB unit.

It's an aggressive play by Sony in the run up to Christmas and it'll be interesting to see who sells most consoles - Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo. Nintendo are the current leaders, but time will tell - this will be the first "PS3 Christmas" in the UK.

Some internet marketers don't like the holiday season - but the example above is a good illustration of why you should be selling real products as well as e-books and software.

Whoever sells most consoles, I know that I'll be making good commission on all the PS3, Wii and XBox 360 sales I make through my affiliate links. I'm looking forward to Christmas!

Security Problem With Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader
Anyone who uses Adobe's Acrobat PDF reader, which would be most people I guess, might be interested to learn that Adobe released details of a potential security flaw on Tuesday.

It seems that hackers can use links to PDF documents to take over a user's computer.

Read more here....

The good news is that it does not affect the latest version of Acrobat (8.0), so all you have to do is to download the new version from Adobe's" site here........

Hackers are reported to have known about this for about a week now. So, if you upgrade to the latest Acrobat version, the chances of being affected are really quite slim.

Best Regards,

Hamish
