Amazon Kindle DX Starts Shipping Today
Today is the big day for the new Amazon Kindle DX - the larger version of Amazon's hugely successful e-book reader. Having been announced in May, just a few months after the launch of the Kindle 2 in February, the DX starts shipping today. Amazon has been taking pre-orders since May and all the signs are that this will be yet another huge hit with the great buying public.
Personally, I have sold plenty Kindles as an Amazon associate so I've got my fingers crossed that I can make good sales of the DX also.
Those of you who are already involved in the Amazon associate scheme will be aware that direct linking to the Amazon site from pay-per-click adverts is no longer permitted. Even if it was, the keyword "kindle" is banned for associates - so you are going to need your own website
and you are going to need to do a little SEO.
That could be a bit difficult, the competition for the term "kindle" is going to be brutal for some time to come. You might want to think about something a bit more achievable - such as
Kindle accessories for example. Even if your site visitors don't wind up buying an actual Kindle reader, some of the accessories on offer are pretty pricey and could land you a nice commission. There are some nice leather covers available for both the Kindle 2 and the DX which are going for over $100! And that's just one example, there are plenty others.
